“Psili Ammos” Beach. Endless sand, shallow and warm waters.
“Psili Ammos” is one of the most distinctive beaches of Samos. It is located in the east coastline, opposite the mountain Mykali (in Asia Minor, Turkey) and, as its name states, is all covered with sand (Sand = Ammos in Greek).
In the beach, this fine, golden sand is suitable for endless games with rackets and ball, while the sea is so shallow that you have to walk many meters until the water covers your head.
Many restaurants and bars are available with their own beach umbrellas (payment is required) and can serve you anything you want to enjoy (ice creams, soft drinks, delicious seafood etc.). In particularly, if someone wishes to enjoy ouzo drink with octopus or other seafood, “Psili Ammos” is the perfect place to do so! Just opposite of the beach is a small island called “Vareloudi”.
Anyone can swim the distance, but if you do so be cautious because there are many sea currents flowing between the beach and the island. “Psili Ammos” is one of the busiest beaches of Samos, but safe, hence suitable for families with kids, which they can play and enjoy their time without risk. Quite often night parties are organized, which last all night long, until the early morning hours.
