Last week we had the opportunity to go away for a couple of nights, thanks to the kindness of neighbours looking after the animals. After searching on line we found that there are direct flights with sky express to several different islands, one of them was Samos. …..
One of the first things we noticed about Samos were the red tiled roofs, mountains and how green the island was. Also how close it is to Turkey. At the narrowest point, the Mycale Straight, there’s just over 1.6km between them.
We took the route through Chora, Mytilini towards Vathi and Samos. The capital of the island, Samos town, looks like an interesting place to walk around, but there wasn’t time on this trip. After getting lost in the one way system and driving down some very steep narrow streets we then headed to our hotel.
