“Mourtia” Beach is a peaceful beach, located in eastern Samos, just opposite Turkey.
“Mourtia” beach is located in East Samos, opposite Asian Minor coast (Turkey). Beach is located on the northeastern side of Samos and you can get there through Vlamari valley. It is about seven kilometers away from the town of Samos. If you seek privacy, peace, nature, and a warm sea, then “Mourtia” beach is suitable for you! It is easily accessible by car, while the surrounding vegetation will “enchant” you. The waters are warm and the surrounding trees provide for natural shade. Don’t forget to visit the nearby Monastery of Zoodochou Pigis and enjoy the magnificent view of the strait between Samos and Turkey.
It does not offer facilities but its waters are crystal clear and calm. It also constitutes a shelter for small fishing boats which are used for fishing around the nearby beaches of Mikri Laka and Megali Laka, access to which is possible only by sea.
The nearby island of “Kassonisi”, which is separated from the land by a small strip of sea – which you can easily cross and reach the island by virtually walking in the water – also constitutes a good fishing ground.
